Serious Sam 3 this summer

Croteam confirms that Serious Sam 3: BFE, the latest installment in the Sam franchise, is slated for release this summer. Exactly when, they didn't release further details yet. But it will use the Serious Engine 3 engine, which is the same one that they used for the HD project. I am eager to learn more about this game, and made a post about the release on the FTO board as well. Sounds like a shit load of big video game titles are coming out this year. So far it is confirmed that we will see SS3, Duke Nukem Forever, Portal 2, Tomb Raider, have I missed anything?

More details have been released about Sam 3: BFE. Apparently, like the First Encounter, the game will take place largely in Egypt, and is by most indications a prequel. I have even read speculation that BFE stands for "Before First Encounter." The exact release date has still not been announced, but will probably come some time before autumn this year.

If this game will be a prequel, then I guess Mental will have to wait at least one more game before he has his ass handed to him. Still, I am excited that a new installment in the Sam franchise is soon to come out.

The game hasn't yet been released though the target is still Summer 2011, which means it may be out soon. No system requirements have been released yet, so I have no idea whether the game will run on my computer or not. No retail price has been listed yet, though it will be available as a retail download. It sounds like it won't hit the stores, at least not right away, but it can be purchased on Steam once it comes out, and Steam achievements will be available.

BFE most likely either stands for Before First Encounter or Battle For Egypt. Either one would be correct, as Sam 3 takes place in 22nd century Egypt where the invasion against Earth is coming to its climax. This is before Sam is sent back in time with the Time-Lock. The game will be available on Windows, XBox 360 and PS3. Singleplayer and multiplayer are also both supported.

As soon as I hear of system requirements, an exact release date, or a retail price, I'll be sure to mentione it if someone doesn't beat me to the punch.

The system specs for BFE have been released. In addition, Croteam confirmed that there will be a split screen feature available for up to four players. Sweetness! As for the MINIMUM system requirements.

Well we know the game will be available for PC, XBox 360 and PS3. For PC gamers, Intel Dual-Core or AMD @ 2.0 GHz. NVIDIA GeForce 7800/7900/8600 video card. XP, Vista and 7 compatible, 32-bit and 64-bit. 1 GB RAM, 4 GB free hard drive space. DirectX9.0c compatible sound card.

The game will be out on PC October 18th. No word on when the console version will be out. I'm gonna pre-order the game as soon as I can.

I already play this game...And was very disappointed. I expected more from this game. Something like Chronicles of Riddik--Assault on Dark Athena. Second part of Riddick has not good visualisation quality. In comparison with Sam-3, Riddick seems more powerful to PC resources. Sam-3 has perfect graphics and optimisation. PC with 4 core and middle lever GPU graphic card has FPS 35-76. In some places fps was more than 86 and in some places (two plasma generators) fps was less than 16,5.

All the same, i think i prefer more Serious Sam First and Second encounter.

Buy do way, Serious Engine 3.5 is the basic engine for Serious Sam-3. I want to check and find out what is Serious Sam First and Second encounter in HD. Almost the same engine. It was beta-testings before SS3.

As I recall Serious Sam HD uses the Serious Engine 3 game engine, just one step under Serious Engine 3.5. I have all the games in the series and although I enjoy all of them I was most disappointed with Sam 2. That game felt more cartoon-ish than it did hardcore lol.
