Gonna need time to get used to it. Its quite different to Q3 lol.
So far i have difficulties with recognising ememies/teamm8s (so much easier with red/blue:D )
About yesterday. Were they bots or real players? How do you recognise in CSS if its bot/player?
Why many players are changing weapons (knife-rigle-knife-rifle and so on) all the time ?

Mag I saw your friend invite on Steam and quickly accepted it. I should caution you that I also sometimes go by my Serious Sam alias {FTO}Shadow if I am in my other Steam games like Sam or TF2.

And yes, CSS is radically different compared to Q3A. I'm sure you were playing with bots. For me the easiest way to check was to look at the team scores and see if they had a ping number or if they said "bot."

Magik, those were bots but didn't show bot pings thanks to a Sourcemod plugin called bots fake ping.
It is done to give people the feeling they are with real people and they can also chat and even deadchat via an other plugin.
McNutty_with_bots #1 doesn't have these plugins so it show you bots in name and zero ping.
The fast weapon switching is a seting you can activate in options in the game and you do it with your mousewheel.
I switch from rifle to pistol when I am running extremely low on ammo in my magazine and magazine changing costs to much time in a active close by fight.
In case I have hardly any time to spare and also pistol is empty I switch to knife as a last resort.

About the other dude, I have a friend invite pending from him and he seems to be okay but I don't know him at all.
I play CS:S for some time now and have met many nasty people so I am a bit slow to add people to my friends list.
You are right about CS:S being a very different game than Quak3, Quake3 is much more social although also there are people who are arrogant but you find most of them in CS:S.
Chatting is also harder because deadchat is off most of the time but of course not on our servers, we like to chat so I tried to make it possible with plugins and settings.
About the dude, he is high skilled and at times it is a bit frustrating because he is impossible to beat it seems (worse than terror bots).
Can he teach us some tricks of the trade?

Im working with him for nearly 2 years and hes ok. Brought him to our Q3 server couple of times before but as long time CS player he didnt like it much lol.

They change weapons a lot to avoid the reload time for each weapon, so say you have to reload your sniper, you just hit r, change to knife and then back to sniper and it's reloaded making it half a second quicker over waiting for the actual gun to reload in real time.

More about weapon changing; some weapons are heavy like the big sniper and you can't walk very fast, so what do you do to walk faster?
Just walk with knife or pistol and you can run much faster.

I'm starting to get used to this game, I don't think it'll be the next Quake 3 for me though. xD

Edit: So what are there in terms of configs like in Quake 3? Is it even as customisable as Quake? Looking for further graphics, network and models tweaking really.
