css server down

Hoho peeps , counterstrike server down ? I cant find it anymore on the serverslist ,,,,,is it down because of hack or update?
And very important ,,,,,will it be in the air again .
Because i love playing on the server. Kabs??

At the moment there are 2 CS:S servers running and for as far as I know 2 Quake3 servers (in my place).
If someone is also running a Quake3 server or CS:S server let us know.

Here a server list:
Quake3, "McNutty" IP: 84.106.12.60 Port: 27961 Rconpassword: in private section.
Quake3, "McNutty_E+" IP: 84.106.12.60 Port: 27960 Rconpassword: in private section.
CS:S, "McNutty_with_bots" IP: 84.106.12.60 Port: 27015 Admin via sm_admin later on after rebuild, no Rcon sorry.
CS:S, "McNutty_with_bots2" IP: 84.106.12.60 Port: 27016 Admin via sm_admin, no Rcon sorry.

Can't thank you enough for the servers Kab. I may go mental trying to manage four at once lol.

I have a trick for that Quakr,...I do one at the time.
Quake3 servers are easy but CS:S servers can be a pain in the backside sometimes, so,...knock wood.

CS:S McNutty_with_bots has been made anew and has now sm_admin.

CS:S McNutty_with_bots #2 has some problems after running smoothly for a couple of weeks.
While playing you might find you have connection problems and get disconnected.
The server terminal gives this error when that happens;

"PreMinidumpCallback: updating dump comment
Uploading dump (in-process) [proxy '']
/tmp/dumps/crash_20120403225931_1.dmp
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
Server restart in 10 seconds"

I don't know what is causing the restart so i will let #2 run as it is for now intill I find out.
In the mean while you can play at #1 which runs well ( still,...knock wood).
If you like #2 better then go ahead but beware that it will restart from time to time.

Well hopefully this is temporary. Any ideas what's behind this?

Not sure, could be a plugin or maybe hacked in some way.
At first I thought it was Valve but other server is running smoothly so that can't be.
At the moment it got so corrupted it can't restart it self anymore.
Very weird.
I think I have to install everything again except Debian.

Hello peeps!
Yesterday we had a Steam client update but also the server got an update and after restarting the server all seemed well.
But the update broke META-MOD and SOURCE-MOD.
So we will have to wait till a fix comes out before admin works again.
Also other plugins don't work anymore.
I will keep you posted.

It seemed to be Meta and Sourcemod were too old while their mainpage said they were okay.
After looking deeper in their pages I found a snapshot page which showed the very latest and after downloading and installing and a server-restart it all works again.

The CS:S server seems to be down today - has it crashed?

Nope, sorry about that.
I am trying to get the server headless so I am busy putting SSH and a public-key on it and off course VNC tunneled via SSH.
All in all, a lot of work and I had to restart the server many times.
I however forgot to restart the SRCDS_C:SS server, so me bad, sorry about that.

Edit: The SRCDS-C:SS server now runs in a program called "Screen", just that you know.
Mosquito, what should I install or set in my serverbox to restart the srcds server when the server is killed by a power down after automatic reboot by the bios?

The Steam people have changed things but for the worse.
I reinstalled it and it worked but when I reinstalled the plugins the server tells me it is out of date and needs to restart to update.
Something is wrong but I don't know what is wrong.
I will work on it but it will take a while.

One month later and still no Mcnutty CSS server,....
Steam and Valve have changed the way their servers are updated.
In the past (for years!) we used SRCDS with the HLDS update tool but that all has changed for the worse.
We now have the SteamCMD tool which will be ready about 2020 I think before all the bugs will be sorted just like Microsoft.
First of the SRCDS update told me it updated itself but did not.
I reinstalled everything from scratch in the end but still no luck.
After much searching on the internet I found that all has changed and now we have to use SteamCMD.
Well, it did not work!
Why change a round well working wheel for a square wheel you might ask,... mmm ask Microsoft about their shitty Windows 8 and in my case the changes with the HLDS to SteamCMD changes.
HLDS worked very well and I had at last got the server running well with auto-update tools which Steam never gave me and it was ever so smooth.
Well there came shitty update 10000 with nothing to add.
Peeps you have to wait but I am working still but am very angry!!!
I will simply not have any Steam programs running at root at the server as the SteamCMD tool is asking from me, POINT.
Still looking for answers, allow me some time.

Windows 8 even its earlier prototype - Windows 7...There are a lot of shit...This is the real "pain in backside sometimes" (c).

Very true, Win8 is shit (sorry should be PC as in poop) but Win 7 isn't that all bad although it is malware and bloatware as all Windows distros are and will always will be. (because they got money pumped to them from the CIA, NSA, MI6 etc. with other words the Rothshields and their Frankists pervert pedophile satanist (also called Illuminati))
Win8 is one of their worst that is for sure and they knew in advance because it has been tried in Linux and it was hammered down straight away in days (mostly because Linus Torvalds was not that happy about it) so they knew it would never work but you know it is all about money and make believe.
So if you had to chose a Windows version (distro) take Win7 instead of Win8.
Better go for a Linux distro and Mint would be my favorit. ( http://www.linuxmint.com/ )

Well, i heard from our old clan friend SaraZYN aka Gera$T that there is Linux Astrumi which has special settings inside for increasing speed for LAN and Internet connection channel. Almost perfect for servers. Its just rumors?!?? Dunno...
