To fill everyone else in, this past Saturday the graduation ceremony was held for my university graduating class, with me included. It was held in Miami, Florida, which is all the way across the country from the state of Michigan. But those who were not able to make it to the ceremony were able to attend an online webcast on it, and we were all able to take part in a live Twitter conversation at the same time, at least those of us who have Twitter.

Some 4,500 students graduated earning various degrees. Mine is a bachelors of science degree in information technology, concentration on Web development. My final term pursuant to that degree ended at the end of Tuesday this week. The grades on my transcript up to this point include one B, one B+ and the rest straight A's. Now, the grade for my final class, the capstone class, has not been returned yet but I expect that one may come out an A+. I may end that class with a 100.5% grade due to extra credit I earned early on in the term.

For those not familiar with the American grading system, this is the scale that is typically used, and E or F are the only failing grades. D is still passing, but some institutions may not consider that high enough to still earn credits.:

A	90-100	3.5-4.0
B	80-89	2.5-3.4999
C	70-79	1.5-2.4999
D	60-69	1.0-1.4999
E or F	0-59	0.0-0.9999

Coming into my final term I had a cumulative GPA of 3.88. I don't know what it will be when I am done, but I am just happy to have graduated and be getting my second degree.
