New Epic Server!

Everyone, you have no idea how many years I've wanted to say this.  

I have a new dedicated server up and running in Q3A running TrickyNinja's Epic mod. The server is called McNutty Epic USA. I kept it running overnight as I went to bed, hoping that when I got up I'd see that someone would have been able to connect to it and someone did.

Anyway, the server is up and running right now, and I will keep it up throughout the day today.. I won't have it up every day however, but I am thinking every other day at minimum, and can fire it up for special requests. The server currently has the standard map rotation. Not all maps from the game are included and no custom ones as yet, but that will surely change over time. Here are the details:

I gotta say this has been a struggle years in the making for me. I'm sure you all know of my previous failed efforts to get an McN server going, or any server for that matter. Back in June my household switched over to a new cable connection through Charter for our TV, phone and Internet service. We are on a 60 mbps connection now, as opposed to our previous connection through Frontier which was < 1 mpbs. Last night I was able to open the port up via port forwarding on the router and open it also on my Windows firewall, and here we are.

At the same time I believe I was also able to successfully get a dedicated server going in Serious Sam 3: BFE, although I did not leave that server running long enough to see if anyone could connect to it. But I think I'll also be able to host an FTO server, if my luck holds.

EDIT: McNuts, the rcon password is the same as can be found in the Private Section. Or just PM me.

Cool! But why 1.30 ?

Because that's the best I have lol.

I think in the coming days I'm gonna add some custom maps to my server's rotation. They would include Gore's map pack, Izzi's Infidel map, and the classic Obiwanshousemap. Also gonna include the space maps if they're not included already.

The problem is the server version 1.30. And people generally have 1.32 version

I should be able to easily patch it though.

I have updated to 1.32. Thx for nudging me in that direction.

Yep, good old times.

The server configuration has been updated. In addition to most of the regular FFA maps the rotation now includes some classic custom maps: Obiwanshouse, IZZI's Infidel map, and Gore's map pack. When the server fires up again tomorrow, those maps will be included in the gameplay.

You also can`t imagine brother, that im still remember your first attempts in this field.

Obiwanshouse, IZZI's Infidel map is awesome, especially last one. I remembered whan we play Infidel for hours, when Snudh and even some times Vixon and some other McN members participated Q3 training at my own server when i run it.

Buy do way, i saw your server in December last year. Good job!

Will you run someday Epic 3?

You are not alone. My efforts in this field when i finished Epic-3 resurrection now counts plenty hours. A lot time spent in attempts to do ideal and something so perfect. But i think i did it relatively faster than it could be.

Oh, this sounds nice! As i understood you just need files. Well, too bad that now i dont have my old HDD. But i will looking for files and i try to do my best. But can`t promise anything. It was long time ago.

And ofcourse i`m not looking for free cookies )) Maybe it needed for someone else in future.
